Roane Co. property tax hike fails, school system looks for cuts outside classroom

A proposal to raise the property tax in Roane County has failed, commissioners voting 12 to 3 against it Tuesday night. If it had been approved more than $1 million would have gone to the Roane County School System helping them meet their budget.
